FED: Festive season triples Australian alcohol intake
New research has found Australians drink three times as much during the festive season
as they do during the rest of the year.
Australian charity FebFast says its survey indicates December and January are the periods
of greatest alcohol consumption .. even more than birthdays .. work drinks and traditional
weekend socialising.
It's launched a campaign encouraging people to give up alcohol for the month of February.
The survey's quizzed about one thousand Australians from all states and territories
on their drinking habits.
